Fisetin Supplement

Fisetin occurs naturally in foods such as strawberries, apples, and onions, but only in small amounts. Double Wood sources fisetin from smoke tree (Cotinus coggygria) stems, a naturally concentrated botanical source that makes it possible to provide 100 mg of fisetin per capsule. Fisetin is best known for its antioxidant and senolytic research. Senolytics are compounds being studied for their potential ability to selectively target senescent cells—aging or damaged cells that have stopped dividing but remain active in the body. Preclinical research, including a 2018 study involving Mayo Clinic researchers, identified fisetin as the most potent senolytic among ten flavonoids tested. Fisetin has since advanced into Phase 2 human trials, including studies evaluating it in older adults with COVID-19 and patients with sepsis. These trials demonstrate growing clinical interest, but fisetin’s senolytic and healthy-aging benefits have not yet been established in humans.
