📋

Product Description

Manuka honey is a monofloral honey produced by bees foraging the Manuka bush (Leptospermum scoparium) in New Zealand. Its defining marker is methylglyoxal (MGO) - this jar is graded at 260+ MGO - which is the compound behind Manuka's antibacterial reputation and the number reputable producers are third-party tested against. This is a raw, single-source honey: harvested from one origin rather than blended from pooled lots, and never heated above hive temperature, so the natural enzymes, antioxidants, and MGO stay intact. It is commonly used to support gut and immune health and as a soothing addition to tea or warm water. Nutritionally it is still a sugar (about 14 g per Tablespoon) with a moderate glycemic index, so it is best used purposefully rather than as a free sweetener.

💊

Recommended Use

Typical use is 1 Tablespoon (the serving size) per day - taken straight off the spoon, stirred into warm (not boiling) water or tea, or spread on food. Keep it below ~40C / 104F to preserve the live enzymes and MGO. Up to 1-2 Tablespoons daily; this jar provides about 11 servings.

Warnings & Allergens

Do not give to infants under 12 months - raw honey can contain Clostridium botulinum spores that cause infant botulism. Manuka honey is roughly 80% sugar (about 14 g per Tablespoon); if you are managing blood sugar or diabetes, count it toward your carbohydrate intake. Produced by bees - avoid if you have a known honey or bee-product allergy.
